Ishita Barua is MD and research fellow at Oslo University Hospital and the University of Oslo. Her research focuses on AI in colorectal cancer diagnostics, endoscopy and the general integration of AI in clinical decision-making. Ishita is a recipient of the Fulbright Fellowship and she is one of the initiators behind and lecturers in the medical subject called “AI, innovation, big data and clinical decision support” at the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Oslo. She is appointed by the Norwegian government as deputy member of The Norwegian Biotechnology Advisory Board. She is also the president of Young Internists of Norway and board member of NORDE (The Norwegian Council of Digital Ethics). Ishita is frequently a keynote speaker on AI in Medicine and has published numerous articles and op-eds both nationally and internationally on AI.
